How Kika Can Support You

Naturopathy recognises the body's natural ability to restore balance when given the right support. At Kika, your unique health story guides everything — from understanding the root causes of symptoms to designing simple, sustainable changes that actually fit your life. There's no judgment here, no prescriptive rules that don't serve you. Just honest support, wherever you're starting from.Using nutrition, herbal medicine, and targeted lifestyle therapy, Kika supports whole-body health with plant-based eating and microbiome health as a core foundation. Care is grounded in both traditional naturopathic philosophy and contemporary scientific research, meeting you wherever you are and helping you feel more like yourself again.Kika also incorporates functional testing where relevant to gain a deeper picture of what's happening internally. This may include microbiome testing, hormone testing, nutrient panels, blood pathology, or methylation-related investigations. All recommendations are personalised and stripped back to what actually mattersSupporting clarity, confidence, and tangible progress in your health.

Your gut is the foundation of everything - immunity, mood, digestion, skin, even your hormones. When bloating, food sensitivities, reflux, IBS, or irregular digestion shows up, it's often a sign the microbiome needs repair. Kika uses functional testing to see what's actually going on, then builds a plant-rich approach to restore balance and long-term digestive ease.Common areas of support include:IBS & IBD
Bloating & reflux
Constipation or loose stools
SIBO & microbiome imbalance
Food sensitivities

Burnout, brain fog, poor sleep, and emotional overwhelm often point to a depleted nervous system. Kika supports this with gentle, evidence-backed strategies that don't require overhauling your entire life - just strategic shifts that create real change. The goal is sustainable shifts, not perfection.Common areas of support include:Fatigue and brain fog
Insomnia or poor sleep
Depression
Anxiety & overwhelm
Post-burnout recovery
Stress hormone imbalance

Nourishing your body well (whether through plant-based eating, transitioning towards more plants, or optimising your current diet) directly impacts energy, weight, body composition, and hormonal balance. Kika provides practical, no-fuss guidance grounded in your actual life, labs, and goals. It's about nourishing yourself, not restricting yourself.
Common areas of support include:
Weight and body composition changes
Unintentional weight changes
Fatigue, brain fog, or low energy
Nutrient deficiencies (iron, B12, protein)
Transitioning to a plant-based diet (or eating more plants)
Meal planning for balance & simplicity

Your cycle and hormones are a window into your whole-body health. When periods are irregular, painful, or when PMS, PCOS, or perimenopause show up, this is a sign that something deeper needs support. Kika works to restore balance through nutrition, functional testing, and targeted plant medicine. The microbiome is key here too—gut health directly influences hormonal health, which is why nutrition becomes so powerful in this work.Common areas of support include:PMS & mood swings
PCOS & endometriosis
Irregular or painful cycles
Perimenopause & menopause transitions
Hormone testing interpretation

Chronic inflammation, autoimmune conditions, and recurring infections often mean your immune system needs both support and education. Kika combines lifestyle and nutritional strategies, with a strong plant-based foundation, to reduce flares, build resilience, and restore balance from the inside out.Common areas of support include:Coeliac disease
Hashimoto's hypothyroidism
Rheumatoid arthritis
Chronic fatigue
Low immunity or frequent infections
Food-triggered inflammation

For those managing cardiometabolic conditions, navigating oncology care, or living with chronic health concerns, Kika offers practical, evidence-informed support focused on improving outcomes and supporting long-term wellbeing. This is naturopathy that works alongside conventional care, not instead of it.Common areas of support include:High blood pressure, cholesterol, insulin resistance
Type 2 diabetes & prediabetes
Fatty liver disease (NAFLD)
Nutritional care during chemo or radiation
Recovery & relapse prevention post-treatment
* Oncology support is complementary to conventional treatment.

Kika was founded by Ciara Perry, a master-qualified Naturopath with a background in Clinical Nutrition. Her approach is rooted in evidence-based practice, with a strong focus on the gut, hormones, immune and nervous system health.Ciara's journey into naturopathy began with watching natural medicine support her dad's health and a lifelong fascination with plants and herbal medicine. FAQ

Have questions? You're not alone. Here are some of the most common things people ask before working together — from how naturopathy works to what to expect in your first session.

What is naturopathy?

Naturopathy is a holistic approach to health that supports your body’s natural ability to heal. Rather than just managing symptoms, it focuses on uncovering and addressing the root causes of imbalance. Using tools like herbal medicine, nutrition, lifestyle guidance, and functional testing, naturopathy blends traditional wisdom with modern science. It’s not about “alternative” care — I work alongside conventional medicine to support your long-term health and wellbeing.

What’s the difference between a nutritionist and a naturopath?

As Hippocrates said, “Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food.” Nutritionists focus on the therapeutic power of food — using nutrients, dietary patterns, and personalised nutrition to support health and address imbalance.Naturopathy builds on this foundation with a broader, traditionally rooted approach. It considers the whole person — body, mind, and spirit — and integrates additional tools like herbal medicine, lifestyle guidance, and functional testing to restore balance and vitality. With training in both disciplines, I draw on the strengths of each — using food as medicine alongside evidence-informed naturopathic care.

What’s the difference between a nutritionist and a dietitian?

Dietitians are typically trained to work within hospitals and clinical settings, often focusing on disease management using standard guidelines. Nutritionists (like myself) tend to take a more personalised, lifestyle-based approach — using food, education and behaviour change to support wellbeing. Both can be evidence-based, but differ in training and philosophy.

Do you offer private health rebates?

Nutrition consultations may be eligible for rebates through some private health funds, depending on your level of cover and insurer. If your consult includes both naturopathy and nutrition, only the nutrition component may be claimable — and this depends on whether your fund covers nutrition services provided by non-APD practitioners.Rebates for naturopathy are currently not available due to government changes in 2019, but may be reinstated pending review. I recommend checking directly with your health fund to confirm your eligibility before booking.

Do you offer concession pricing?

Yes — concession rates are available for students, pensioners, and those experiencing financial hardship. If cost is a concern, feel free to reach out and I’ll do my best to support you.
